no silly.. not real golden pearls.. the fish/coral food Golden Pearls. :D

I was thinking I might add this to my feeding regimine a couple times a week for corals. it comes in 5-50 microns, 50-100 microns, and all the way up to 800 microns.

if no one has seen it locally, any good online retailers carry it? I've seen it on ebay, but that's about it.

Here's the manufacturer's website in case anyone was interested in more info - some people swear by it - I've yet to try it.

Ok... its good stuff though right? just high in phosphates?

Should I get the 5-50 microns, 50-100, or bigger than that?

suggestions appreciated.

it's to feed various corals (SPS, LPS, etc.)

I never noticed an improvement using them except for phosphate issue. I think there are better ways to feed your corals than Golden Pearls.

i fed my tank with golden pearl 2 times a week for the past 4 years..and i'm still using it.

Hey Dang - what micron size do you feed? and... have you been using anything else in addition to golden pearls with your tank?

I've been using reef chili (matt - think I inherited that from you), cyclopeeze, my own little mixture of oysters & stuff, & I was looking for something more to help bring the zooanthelia (sp) in the coral tissue regenerate after my little electrocution event. Golden pearls seemed neat b/c they're freeze dried. I was less excited about using phyto or rotifers b/c they dont have as long of a shelf life.

Tracy said that she feels the 50-100 micron size is the best for SPS and the next size up for LPS (I was eavesdropping....) ;)
