For my sons graduation present DP and I are traveling to Maui to do some diving.
Are there any must Do's while we are there?
We leave Tuesday for 6 days.
Any advise is welcome

Maui is a pretty island. I didnt do any diving when I was there. I wasnt in the saltwater hobby then, but you should drive up haleakala and rent a couple harleys and ride out rt340. that road would be so much fun to ride. But be safe!

The harley dealer is in lahaina on front street.

That would be cool. We are staying in Lahaina. Close to the dive shop. I am certified to ride but my son is not. We had thought about mopeds, just for fun.

Hey Peppie there was a sponsor here (I'm sure the old timers know) that was from somewhere there , I think it was wet pets or reef pets I can't remember exactly. We talked one night for awhile seemed like a really cool guy.

you're speaking of Les with Wet Pets Hawaii. I believe he is actually located in honolulu. But yeah, if you get to the big island, he would be the person to see. He would know where to go and what to do on maui too.

We went to Maui several years ago. We went out on a whale watching/snorkeling sailboat from just outside of Lahaina. Left at 7am and got back at 2 or so. There were about 20 people on it, max. They have bigger boats with up to 100 I think, but we wanted to have less people.

Anyway, we went out and they gave us breakfast then we looked at whales. Has to be the right time of year for that. After that we went to 2 or 3 places to snorkel. One was with giant turtles. The others were places 15 or 20 feet deep to look at fish and coral. At one of them they threw some food in the water and there was a huge school of Niger triggers that we got in and swam with. On the way back we got lunch. It was by far my favorite thing we did. So cool!
