I have just ordered the Tunze 9010 skimmer. And was wondering if anyone has one and there thoughts on how well it works for them. I have a very limited space in width and heighth in my sump. Its a 20 gallon long and i only have about 18 inches of clearance.Does the water level have to be constantly the same in the sump for this skimmer to work correctly? I have a tunze classic in the tank right now and it only works well when the water level is constantly the same. But the air adjustment has to be played with to much for my liking. This skimmer is gonna be on a 75 gallon fish only tank please give me any advice you may have on this model skimmer
thanks
Scott

Its an ok skimmer. There are much better skimmers out there, but that being said for your situation it should work well with limited space. Yes you need a constant water level for the skimmer to perform correctly.

I have a couple of them and it skims and thats about it. It does not do real well if the tank if real clean but it does work. The water level does not need to be constant if your running it with the in sump bottom plate and tube attatched. The pee hole is noisy if you have a low water level but just leaning a piece of plastic against the skimmer to give the water something to flow on cures the noise and splashing. I dont regret the purchases but probably would if I did less water changes.
