I am making a sump and I want to use glass baffles this time. I took apart a 20 gallon long tank to use for the glass so it's 1/4". I bought a tool from homedepot and cutting the glass in large pieces isn't too hard, but I have to cut 1/4" off for the width and that isn't happening lol. unfortunately today is my only day off besides Sunday until next Wednesday. I was wanting to get this thing done and curing so I could set up a tank soon.

Thanks,
Brian

Mclendon's said they will cut glass but they can't cut off 1/4 of glass either. I'm just going to go down there and see if it's just impossilbe or if they are worried about breaking my glass and me getting upset. If that is the case I'm going to get them to just try it I don't care if it brakes that much.

Lowe's only has picture frame glass, and Home depot doesn't carry glass at all anymore. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Ok Mclendon's has 3mm/1/8th glass they can cut me for baffles is that too thin?

Nevermind I think that is just too thin I would probably break it moving my skimmer around or something like that lol. I guess I will just have to wait and see if I can get mine cut.

Ya if it’s a glass tank then use glass. It will be way stronger when moving things around. Cutting ¼ inch off is probably not possible with out some how clamping the entire length of glass in something before you tap it off. It may not all come off in one shot cause its so close to the edge already.
