Are Barnacles OK?

I found a small cluster of barnacles attached to a gorgonian I placed in my QT. Are they reef safe? If so, could they become a pest problem? And if so, any suggestions as to removal from the gorgonian w/o damage?

They should not be a problem, they are just filter feeders and they often do not last long even in a reef tank.

My LR had a bunch of barnacles living on it when I first got it. They lasted a few months before they all died off. I think they must require a constant source of food.
