Backup AC/DC Power

I hope that I am asking this in the correct forum. I live on the gulf coast where we have frequent power outages. Does anyone know of, or use and back up electrical devices other than a gasoline powered generator? I think I am looking for a battery backup that will at least run my pumps for up to a couple of days if necessary. I only have a 29 Biocube, but as you well know, even that is a healthy investment.

Deep cycle battery and a little bilge pump is plenty for a tank that size. A little live well pump 200gph will go 12hrs on a deep cycle. 500gph will go 10hrs.

I guess I'm lucky, we don't loose power much here unless we're hit by a hurricane which by then I'll have to cut & run regardless, not sure how long my tank would survive without me around, In that situation I'd be gone days most likely, hopefully still having a house to come home to.:|
