How far apart should I place the baffles on a DYI sump/fuge?

Use your hand as a guide, you dont want them to end up so close together that cleaning is a pain.

I used some 2x4's as spacers. Held the baffles square to each other and gave 1-1/2" between them.

Depends on how much water you plan on turning over, and how wide or narrow the sump is. A slow river is deep and wide. Jason

Well I plan to use a standard 75g tank 48''x18''x20'' tall tank. I plan to put 900 to 1200gph through there on a 135g tank. So.... with that width how far apart should they be?
