Not gonna mention my ban but....
ya its a good thing to help someone..... even tho im a noob and allways will be a noob... the stuff ive learned from this sight (plug) reefsantuary(plug) and one other eh...... not so great sight.(not the ban) when you see other peoples tanks.... you can tell whats going on in like 15 seconds after looking at it..
For insince (gotta tell this story)
Theres a Lfs thats bin here for a while (2miles) hes all Fw tropical something/pond fish. when i first started thinking about geting a SW tank... i asked my friends step father about his 120 Fw. he told me this nice guy at the lfs and i should go talk 2 him. (Lfs)
i walk in see that this is all Fw. so i ask something about sw anyway.
clayton replys " you never had a salt water tank b4?"
i say "no"
He says "start out Fw till you get the handle of it"
now at that point ive already desided to leave.... i dont care about anything other then the fact that..... when someone asks something, you anwser not give oppion, so anyway i leave
now keep in mine that this place is like the only lfs thats kinda nice (around here) i drive by there every day. so about twice over the last year i went in there.(3times)
i stop in the first time after i see a sign that says "saltwater fish comeing soon"
i go in the first time, i see him with some other dude building some sort of setup.... (dont know what he did there) i ask what hes planing on keeping and he kinda beats around the question.....
at this point i can tell this dude doesnt really know what the hell hes doing (or so i thought)
the 2nd time i go in, i see 12 tanks stacked they all have under gravel filters with that little stand pipe kindda thing with the air comeing up
he says hes gonna have some fish and some snails and stuff.... but theres a sigh on the window thats says "cycleing sorry for the mess"
theres already a few dead snails,
the next time i go in. he has a few eels, a blue power tang (huge!) id say like 6" long i was upseting right there and then.... besides these 2 eels that are crunched in a 2 seprate 10 gal tanks, the tang, is sick.... i start looking at other tanks.
box fish, yellow other box fish, dead snails, few sideways flying wrasses (dead bed style) triggers..... dead triggers....
looks like he comepltely was in the middle of a crash.... or about to be....
small store. i looked for a RO tank and buckets of salt.... no sign of any monitoring or test kits......
anyway.. so i go back 2 look at the tang.... cause she looked under attack from some sort or sickness's spots and stuff in her eyes and fin damage...
so i got mad.
i went right up 2 him (owner)
and told him "you need to go home go online register to reeffrontiers.com and learn"
walked out..
next time i went in there. they were empty besides the eels where still alive...
