Best Salt Mix

I will soon start my first reef tank and I was wondering which one is the best salt mix?

IO is always a good start. most people use it and have great success. other mixes especialy oceanic has a bad rep of causeing algea blooms.

Very debateable. I use Reef Crystals. Might checkout boomers forum for that one.

I think (don't quote me on this) the guys that have very stable established tanks with all of the equipment, like IO for its consistancy. The rest of us like reef crystals because extra Ca and Mg is worth the $3 difference.

Tried a few others, but always went back to IO.

i'm by no means recommending this but, i've used the prefab saltwater in a box thing at octep a couple of times in a pinch. way expensive, but i can't say that it did damage to the system.

Regular IO for me. I have used a bucket of Oceanic at one time without any ill effects.

I started with Coralife and am now on IO. No reason for the switch really, I didn't notice a difference in my tank I just wanted to buy more stuff from Kevin at Aquatic Dreams.

i seem to find oceanic cheaper per gal, though i got a really good deal from mario out at ocean reef aquatics and stocked up a bit
