usually such mater is just excrement, but it it coincides with a rapid (with hours or days) paling in color, you may be looking atthe expulsion of zooxanthellae (typically from temp, salinity or - especially - light shock)
Blastos are lower light corals by nature. If you have metal halides, this coral needs sheltered or shaded at least at first likely.
