Hi guys, I need some advice on how to treat these little white spots on him, I saw it this morning, the tang is fine, I think it is the early stage of the spread. I just want to save him. Any advice, should I use QT as the last resort or....directly treat him in my reef tank.

Hey, I am going through the same process right now. I am doing a hyposalinity treatment.

There is a lot of great information about ick over in Marine Fish Discussion with Lee Birch

There are a few stickies that you need to read in order to better understand ick and what is happening.

Those are the ones you need to read.

Here is a link to my questions I have while going through this process.

+1 on reading the above. It is a must to understand what will work and what will not.

I don't recommend hypo with a reef system and is not a total cure anyway. Parasites can lay dormant for an extended period and re-infect the system and you'll have nuked your coral. Time to go fallow. Capture is possible in a reef with either renting a trap, or creating a net corral out of black nylon window screen+zip ties+acrylic rods at the corral corners. Place food at the far end of coral and allow fish to enter zone. This worked rather well for my schooling Anthias. Good luck.

hypo or copper treatment will work and you need to use a QT/hospital tank. You don't want to do either treatment in your display.
