I've had my blue tang for about a month and a half and he is starting to get small white splotches on the top of his head and along his top fin. Is this possibly ich? He keeps going around the cleaner shrimp and the cleaner shrimp seems to be trying to clean him but it doesn't seem to get any better.

I tried to take a picture but after 31 pictures I figured it is almost impossible to photograph a tang since they never sit still for a second.

What do you think it is guys?

Ich is small white dots ON the fish. They are free swimming. If the actual skin is turning white and loosing color, thats something else. Usually with tangs its diet related, I would feed lots of nori and maybe help is immune system with garlic. I'm not to sure how much the garlic does but it cant hurt.

I have been feeding brine, krill, silverside, and little fishes dried seaweed.

The dried seaweed is great. Just need lots of it. My Sailfin eats 4"x4" daily. Brine is useless unless its gutloaded, pretty much a waste. Kind of like twinkies, no value.

My blue tang is a baby blue tang that is barely bigger than my baby false percula.

So what is the ultimate diet for a tang?

More specifically can you give me some links to 2 or 3 really good foods for tangs. I bought the dried seaweed in a silver bag which I believe was two little fishes brand at Petco (that is all I buy at Petco). It had alot of vitamins in it and there was red and green I believe. On the back the ingredients were identical except for fatty acids. I got the one that has alittle more fatty acids in it.
