Greetings all-
A few of you know me, and some know a good friend of mine, Bob Moore.

Bob has been fighting cancer for 4 years now, and has entrusted me with the care of his tank. We have opted to spread some of the corals from his system around to help ensure the colonies are perpetuated. Tim and Cy from Barrier Reef have been gracious in helping with the tank and have some of the frags available. In keeping with our desire, they are donating one of the most stunning (blue stag) at the next club meeting. They have additional available at their location in Issaquah for qualified reefers.

My prayers go out to Bob and his family during his continued fight. Dan, Tim and Cy, I wanted to also say thanks, and you will also be in my thoughts while you help a friend in need.

For those of you who knew him, Bob passed at 5:00 this morning. He had family and friends there through his final moments, and will be missed terribly by all of us. Roughly 40 of us got together last weekend at the family house in Chelan to drive fast cars, play poker, imbibe, and tell stories. He was a trooper throughout, caring more for our company than about his pain and discomfort. Cheers to you my friend!

Bob Moore

Bob was one heck of a guy, to say the least. Always willing to share his knowledge and I will miss him greatly. I will remember all the great times at all the Western Marine Conferences we all sharred with him. I will never forget the time, just moments after he purchased his red rocket, he gave me a ride. So humble... I wished I would have been able to say farewell. Go swim in the big reef my friend!

This is very sad news. I met Bob many years ago when I was just getting into SPS. His tank was awesome, never could understand the growth he got in his tank. He was always very generous with his time, his coral, his knowledge. He was a great person, one that everyone should have been able to know in person.

I am so sorry for his loss to his family and his friends. He certainly will be missed.
 
My very first PSAS meeting was at Bob Moore's house back in October 2001.
His 240g tank with the remote sump in the garage, blew me away.

This is the second Reefkeeper I know that has passed away from cancer this month. Greg Scheimer lost his battle a few weeks back. I will miss the Xmas party days at Bob's house, but still think about him whenever I look at the coral he spread around.

Hate to hear about someone leaving this world in such short time. Bob was a great guy and was one of the people who influenced my entry into the reef hobby. It was on the tank tour that stopped at his house that I was infused with the bug to start a reef tank. God Speed Bob!
 
While I have not met Bob personally, I am sure there is much loss for the local reef community. Prayers go for his family and relatives.

I wish the same. Those that knew him please keep that blue coral around and think of him as you pass it or look at it. :( I think people like to be remembered for something. :)
 
There are quite a few amongst us with nice looking Blue Staghorn that originally came from Steve Elias to and through Bob's fragging: is now called the Bob Moore Blue Stag.

I have come to the conclusion that if you see a Blue/greenish Stag with blue tips, it probably originated from Bob.

I also had not ever met Bob, but it sounds like he was a great guy and a true loss to the club.

As I look over my own tank, I have 2 or 3 bluish/green stags with blue tips. I wonder if they came from his in a round-about way. Who else has some of this from Bob? I love that his legacy lives on in his frags.
