A couple pics of the pair and the grow out tank. Today is day four for the babies. Lost about ten over the last 24 hours. Still have approx. 30 left. Started with approx 50. Plenty of rotifers in the water to keep them fed. Going to start up the brine shrimp hatchery today to start feeding in a couple of days. First time I have bred clown fish. Happy so far with how it is going.

Started a batch of brine shrimp today to start adding with the rotifers. Another batch of eggs laid by the female today in the main tank. Two weeks to the day of last laying. Close to three times more eggs compared to the first time a couple of weeks ago.

Fry 6 days old today. About 25 or so left. Salinity got way up there - 1.026 - trying to slowly bring it down by adding RO/DI water. Added newly hatched brine shrimp for first time.

CONGRATS! I'm glad you are taking such good care of my Clowns, they couldn't have gone to a better person. The female is approx 4+ years old (wild caught) and male is about 3+ and captive bred. Thier first successful spawn was in Fall of 2010. Typically these two have spawned every 11-12 days for 3-5X with a 30-60 day rest period in between cycles. Good luck and am looking forward to following this thread.

Cheers, Todd

Thanks Todd......

Fry are 8 days old today. Looks like I only lost one or two fry in the last couple of days. Started another batch of brine shrimp this morning so they should be ready tomorrow morning. Trying to only use freshly hatched brine that are less than three days old. I have read days 8-14 is when the fry go through the morph stage and is the last big hurdle to get them through.

Fry 13 days old today. Came home from work this morning and found two fry had developed their stripes. Have not lost any fry the last three days. Still have three or four that are lagging behind in size but seem to be active and eating.

This is way cool ill be following along for sure..

Post more pics as you get a chance..

Day 19. Looks like 10 made it through the larvae stage and got their stripes. Approx. 20% survival rate. One is still very small but is active. Picking up a 6 gallon tank today from a friend. Planning on moving them into that tank later today or Friday to finish rearing them. Another batch of eggs laid yesterday. Plan on raising some of those fry when they hatch next Thursday or Friday. I will post a couple pics once I get them transferred.

I have two from the batch that this thread was dedicated to. They are in my sons 40b and getting along great. Since they are a pair - one of the two is more dominant and getting bigger so I assume will become a female. A third one passed away about two months ago for unknown reasons. :-(. I tried to raise a couple more batches since with no success, however I do have 15 babies that are almost 2 months old that are doing great. The parents continue to lay eggs every two weeks. I will probably try to raise another batch next month when I get back from vacation....... Thanks for asking for the update!!!
