Hi,

I had 2 beautiful 2" ultra maximas side by side that took a dive overnight. I woke up this morning and looked in the tank before the lights turned on and noticed a big old bristle worm munching on the innards. could the bristle worm been the cause? or was he just an opportunistic feeder after they croaked?

I have 2 more much larger clams in teh tank and they seem to be fine, but this obviously has me worried for them now too.

thanks for any thoughts/advice

Ben

If clams are healthy, they are usually strong enough to fight bristleworms off. My assumption is that the clams were already headed down hill and the worms went for the weak.

I had a similar thing happen, I noticed my clam upside down, put him back but it appeared something had been munching on him. I noticed a bristle worm, but the culprit was my snowflake eel, he ate every last drop of the clam the next night.
