I have some dark red algae growing on many pieces of my live rock. almost looks like coralline algae. is this bryopsis? and how do i get it to stop spreading :(

yup, sounds like cyano.

Increase flow across those areas. I have a couple little nano powerheads in my tank adding flow to the dead spots that my big powerheads don't reach.

You can vacuum out what is in there now, or blow it off with a turkey baster

nah not cyano. sorry cant really get any detailed pictures. think its just a really dark maroon form of coralline or something. please no more cyano haha. haven't had any of that since i hooked up the chiller and UV filter.

Hmm, ok this is the only thing i notice. when it first forms its a real pretty pink then within a day turns to dark maroon color. covers the purple and other coralline fast. some of it seems to have a texture almost scale like.

should have plenty of flow. im using a mag 1200 and a mag 700 on return lines plus 2 mp40's on NTS mode at about 3/4 power soon to add an mp10wes to the back pane.
