I've got a tank for sale in the classifieds section. Its got the normal scratches from rocks and bad cleaning techniques (previous home owner). I was told most of these would buff out easily by a couple different people who have looked at it.

I've buffed out cars but thats about it, so any reccomendations on what type of compound and pads to use to do an acrylic tank? Anyone done one before?

Thanks,
-Nick

Thanks, reading those posts I am curious since my tank is empty should I use the same techniques as discussed for the outside of the tank rather then the micromesh?

Yes, it is definitely more convenient to use the "outside of tank" methods for the inside before you put water in. One thing to keep in mind - you don't need to achieve the same degree of polish on the inside as the outside, as the water on the inside will fill the microscopic scratches whereas on the outside these microscopic scratches look like a light haze.

I agree w/ Bchbum189, on my heavily scratched 125 tru View, I started w/ 600g, 800, 1000,1500,2000 ALL WETSANDING -- and then buffed it out at about 1400rpm and standard car compound w/ a wool pad, and then polish w/ a foam pad. It worked great!
