Howdy to all...
Ok, for my newest propo tank, I'm staring another 135 (72X18X24). For the DSB, if I go 6" deep, I would need 400 lbs approx. 8" would be more like 500-550. Um, yea. At 40.00 (LFS Cost) per 40 lb bag, that adds up quick. Anyone heard of cheaper prices or bulk Carib Sea (pref) aragonite sand?
Also, What is the consensus on spot-siphoning DSB. I always thought it was a no-no. But I do, in other tanks with DSB's, have cyno and other algaes ande grasses growing in and on top of the sand in spots. These spots are believed to be low in water flow, and I've fixed that, but what do I do for buildup of algae? Thought about hiring a crew to come in once a week and mow the lawn and trim the hedges.....
P.S. Man, why won't these thingies grow in the fuge. They insist on growing in the main.....
