How much CA PPM can you adjust per 6 hour period to either a Tan or 24 Hour old mixed Salt Water?

Also the same Question applies to DKH/MEQ/L?

The reason for the questions are as Follows!

I recently have had allot of problems trying to dial in a CA reactor .

I was testing daily (often 2 times to double check): 410/400/430/380/350

I also was testing ALK as well in Dkh :12/11.2/11.5/11.0/10.0

I needed to adjust but did not have enoughp water to adjust with !!!

so I used this calculator and used enoughp to Bump it up to 450 I planned on doing this over 12-24 hours and ended up doing it over 5-6 hours.

I tested it and my CA was ok but saw my alk was now really low 4.5 DKH.

Again I dosed this time alk over several hours .

But I could not get a STABLE test reading ?? ( Test kit Hell !! )

I literally got 75-80 CA ppm points different within 1 minute ( I tested 3 times with 2 test kits)

So I figured It needed time to mix better as I had added faster than I wanted.

So Yesterday I chosen a low setting for my CA reactor and left it during all this.

My readings are now CA 475 PPM/ ALK 4.2 DKH/ Mag 1300-1400

Any Thoughts before I dose less and again slower this time.

I Am Also planning on Bumping up My mixed water before Doing A Water change it is
475 CA but only 3.5 or 6.5 DKH (diferent test kits) ( mix of kent and Reefcrystals) !

I plan on waiting untill I get the reactor CA/ALK More Balanced and stable then Doing my Typical 60 Gallon Change on a 200 Gallon system.

My Magnesium is fine :)

And I am Keeping all the data in an Excell format!

"how often do you do 60g h20 changes? That's a big water change."

Every 3 weeks normally.
I was having nitrate issues years ago but then I just left it at that.
Have been thinking of making it smaller. I might once things get stable and grow again.
