I was wondering what everyone thought of running a calc. reactor without the use of a controller. I have seen people do this before but don't know how to even begin to guess what to set the reactor at (bubbles per minute?) I would be more than willing to pay someone to come over and help me set this up if it seems like a good idea.

You don't really have to have a controller, just a test kit. Test the tank, test the fluid coming out of the reactor, then make changes as necessary. With a smaller tank it easily equilabrates, but it is always good to test it often in the beginning.

So am I testing the tank water to make sure that the ph isn't dropping. Also what should I start the effluent at as far as ph. Tank is 125gallons sps, zoas, few softies, clam etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe the effluent pH will vary depending on the media you choose to use in the reactor.

What does everyone recommend? I have used aragonite in the past. Any suggestions?
