I have been very unsuccessful in keeping anenomes aliove in my 50 gal reef. Rose bubles died, the long tenticals have died, the last one hung around for abourt a week then disapered into the rock and never camne back out. I have had my water checked and it appears to in good condition. Nitrates staying around 5. I do have a banded coral shrimp , 2 blue damsels, 1 goby, 1 clown. a few snails and 2 emerald crabs. ??

lighting?? they want about 6w per gallon. and what are you trying to feed them?? are you direct feeding them?? flow??

Tell us a bit more about your tank as in how long has it been up and running? Anemones need to be in matured systems and the fact that you are reading traces of nitrates either suggests the tank is not fully matured yet or something is going on in the tank causing nitrates to be present.

Let us know a bit more info if you can and sorry to hear about your mis-fortunes with them...

Obviously, until you're able to figure out why, please stop trying. Killing 3 anemones is at least 2 too many, before discovering a reason.

We need a lot more information about your tank.

Ignore Watts/gallon or even wattage, when it comes to lighting, but we do need to know what type of lighting you have.
