Candy cane fragmented

Thanks to you guys, i have successfully fragmented my candy cane coral today. The mother was distressed for a couple of hours, but she is now back to her usual self.

I looked back at other posts and didn't see any discussion on this. How did you do it? I've got a colony that's about the size of a softball that I would like to frag.
