Does anyone have any tips on how to remove fish from a tank with alot of LR? I am pulling out my chromis tonight becasue I am trying to lower my bio-load, and they seem to be way to smart and fast for nets. PLEASE HELp

LOL good luck. Heres one that has worked for me best. Take a net and remove the mesh. replace it with a clear plastic bag. poke a couple holes in the end so water can pass through it as you move it. The tanke a little food and put it in the bag. Alot of time the fish cant see the plastic and goes for it. Either that or a fish trap, let me know if you need one

I used the clear plastic container that Charcol comes in. Lable removed, lid off... with some food stuck inside. The light reflects off it some, which keeps the fish wary for a little bit. When the fish swims inside, be quick to grasp the opening with your hand to keep it in there, the LIFT!

Hope that might help some.

One liter soda bottle cut off the top 1/3, take the end you drink out of and trim so that the fish can swim in. reinsert in the soda bottle upside down (think reverse cone) let it sit in the fish tank for a day or so. Dont feed the fish during this time. put food, (frezee dried krill) in bottle. leave a net near bottle. when the fish you want swims in pick up the front of the bottle with the net and the back with your hand. no hurry because if it swims out its into the net. I think leaving it and the net in the tank lets the fish chill out about the net. Being hungry makes them stupid. Or you can just leave a net in the tank for a few days, not feed them and use floating pellets with a feeding ring. get under the fish and come up to the surface with the net.

Thanks for all the great tips everyone. Hey Mike I may take you up on that offer to borrow a trap.

OK THATS IT! I will pay $5 PER CHROMIS to the person who will come to my house and get them out! I am not kidding either! 4 chromis = $20.00! That would get you a nice frag from the LFS. SOMEONE please help. I've been on vacation all week and I'm about to break my tank down completely so they have no where to run or hide.

A fishtrap will do wonders on stupid little chromis. If you are getting fed up, take Mike up on his offer and borrow his.
