i bought a nice purple clam (size of a fist)... what kind of food do i need to provide? is it filter feeder? thank you

phycopure is the best ..we think its the best for clams

Abslutely no feeding needed. Attempts are pretty much just pollution. I would suggest the not so new book written by Jamefatherree call Giant clams of the ocean and the aquarium.

I agree, as long as you have sufficient lighting, your clam should be fine withouth supplemental feeding. Make sure to watch your calcium and alkalinity, if you don't already.

When you say work what do you mean. Work as in what have you seen it do differently vs non feeding.

Well we have seen (mostly wild ) clams that are not fed die, and clams that are fed Phycopure live and grow .
