Does Anyone Clean Out The Overflow? I Never Really Look In There Except To Change Pre Filter But Did Recentlyand There Is All Kinds Of Things Going On Mini Starfish Tons Of What Appear To Be Tube Worms?(long Thin Tubes Cant Tell If Anything Inside And Some Mud Like Stuff On The Bottom,

There have been members with nitrates issues which were partly the result of a dirty overflow. The brown mud like stuff stuff you see is quite possibly a collection of detritus that settled in there and if left will degrade water quality. Personally, I always cleaned my overflow regularily to help keep waste in the system to a minimum :)

Like Krish said. Overflows collect detritus by nature. The detritus rots and creates nitrates and should be cleaned. I know its cool to have all the critters but the nitrate reduction is worth the loss of critters.
