There's actually a lot of great photos posted on here that are taken with Point and Shoot cameras. I used one for several years, before stepping up to a DSLR. Learn all about the different modes your camera offers. Learn what aperture (F stops) and shutter speed do and how to control them. You'll eventually want to do most of your shooting in manual mode or aperture priority. There's a lot of great tips on this forum for photography that will help you out a lot. Start by taking a bunch of shots, noting what mode you're in, what settings you have and such. Post those pics, along with all that data and people will give you all kinds of tips!! Welcome to an entirely new hobby that compliments your reef keeping hobby quite well. Beware....it's just as addictive and eventually ends up even more expensive!!
