I'mm curious how many people run their closed loop pump on a timer? I currently run mine 12 hours a day. I also have a Mag 9.5 sump return pump that runs 24 hours a day.

24 hours here. Even if i didnt think that good flow all day long was a good thing, I have so much piping in my closed loops that if i were to shut them off for any length of time i need to get out the shop vac and suck all the dead water out of the lines instead of pumping it back into the tanks.

24/7 except for feeding time I I shut one off to allow food to settle to the bottom for my goby, and melanarus that tend to hang low. I too have a bunch of plumbing (50ft per pump) times 5 pumps so I have a lot of dead water in plumbing if I leave them off for long.

I ran mine 24/7 as well...Only time they shut off was for cleaning however some people actually do put them on a timers for less flow at night:)
