If I warm mix and then transfer SW to my 200g outdoor storage tank are there going to be issues. I dont care if its cold. Should I keep it moving with a pump? This would 8 weeks worth of SW.

Thanks
Don

Yes I would at least keep it somewhat aerated. Maybe even just a bubble stone of some sort. Try and seal it as best you can, and keep any light from it as well.

BTW, why are you doing it? Just don't like mixing up SW each week?

I painted it black so no light is going to get in. Its also has a carbon block so when the water gets pulled out it the incomming air goes through the carbon block. Yes just because I'm lazy, my water changes are constant. 5 gallons a day is about max right now, but I just scored a new HP peri on ebay so I can move it up and down up to 20g a day as I see fit.:)

So are you going to have a peri pumping out the same amount as whats going in? Or is it going to overflow into a drain? And what about heating the water as well? It might be an issue seeing as how cold it can get, but it totally depends on how big your system is (I forgot your total volume sorry). Just a thought...

It goes into a stand pipe that goes to the drain. The water temp wont drop the tank temp, its to slow. Besides the water temp gives the advantage that the cold water is going to go down while the hot goes up to the drain so you dont throw out the water that you putting in. I would guess my new system is about 70 gallons, never did the math.

It should be Ok Don but I would keep some kind of circulation. Most ions usually remain in solution better at lower temps once in solution.
