Converting my 80g?

I have an empty 80g I'm thinking of converting to salt water. I know what I need in terms of sand, rocks, and lighting (I have a 4x65watt PC light for it), but I wouldn't know where to start for filtration. I dont want to drill it... someone once suggested a canister filter+powerhead+protein skimmer, but wanted to get advice from more than 1 hobbyist before I get anything going.

Use your 30 plus a hang on overflow to make a sump. Set up a refugium and get a decent skimmer.

Agree with Mike. Sump with skimmer is the way to go. Most here use natural filtration.

I agree on the skimmer and the sump as well. All that will be left is good husbandry and allowing your live rock to perform the biological filtration for you

Ill have to do some intesne reading on how to do that then! Im clueless. Its a project that might have to wait until I have more funds
