Where can I get some copepods. Can they be kept and harvested in my refugium and if so what is ideal for doing this?

Coepods do fine in refugiums, they usually come with macro algae, preferably chaeto since they love to hang around in there. Elmo18 has some free chaeto if you look in the buy/sell/trade livestock thread, he lives in seattle, and you dont have to worry about buying the pods, they come with the chaeto macro algae.

one of our sponsors sell pod kits. it's EssentialLiveFoods. You can find hte URL by clicking on Sponsors and scrolling down till you see it.

I'd keep them in my refugium if you have it. Otherwise just dump it in your tank. Make sure the lights and all are off or your fish will have a field day.

I just ordered some from Essential Live Foods/Ocean Pods to bump up the copepod population.
You can get a few off of macro from others, but if you need food now for a fish that needs copepods to survive there are places to buy them.

Thanks for the help. I don't have anything that needs them yet, I'm just trying to plan for when I get a mandarin later.
