copper question?

Hello all, I have a little airstone skimmer that I have been running in my hospital tank, with copper in it. Since the hob skimmer on my 30gl sprung a leak I was wondering if I could put the liitle one that was in the copper tank in there till I get the leak fixed. So the question is, does plastic absorb copper and if so will it leach out. I will replace the wood airstone for sure. TIA

plastic will absorb copper. i would advise against using any copper tainted items in a reef tank. why risk it.
