Hi

I am planing the construction of a coral farm and right now my main task is in find the right way to construct my system. My goal is to build a 5 000gl system but to reduce costs I am thinking about using sun light instead of just artificial light. So I'm hoping that Anthony Calfo and any body that has any expirience with this can help me out a little bit regarding the pros an cons of using sun light, if there's a way to only use sun light, or if this is even a good idea, etc...

All feedback is appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to Reef Frontiers.

I believe others have been successful with only natural light in places with a lot less of it than San Diego.

Thanks for the welcoming.

I wish there would be more documented on this, if you know of a good resource please let me know, because I have a lot of questions....

Check out the stickies at the top of this forum. Anthony has graciously provided links to many many articles on different aspects of aquaculture, including the use of natural sunlight. Also, I'm guessing that his book of coral propagation will have info also. I'll let you know when I get mine! :D
