Hey all,

I purached a new Toadstool Leather Coral today. I put it in the tank about halfway up in decent water movement....A few minutes later I noticed my spotted mushroom and one of my metallic greens closing and looking like they were going to spit their guts. The only other coral in there is a ricordia. Do any of these corals need to be far away from ach other. Could the toadstool have released a toxin?

It's my 75g reef under 260 watt PC lighting, btw.

thanks,
Justin

The toadstool very well could have released toxins. Sarcophyton's have some of the most potent nasties out there. Do you have some carbon you can run? That should help. If the toadstool is still shedding mucus, try to remove it with a net and place the toadstool "downstream" of the other corals so the mucus can't land on them.

Good luck!

Alice
