I've seen these in my tank as well. They don't like light and are very fast. I saw one with a flashlight once eating a snail. They are nasty critters and populate quickly. I have only been able to catch the big ones with a nudibranch trap with a fishing line tied to it so I can yank it out of the tank quickly. Any sight of like and they move out!
I caught another one this morning. This worm is possibly a Oenone Fulgida. Mine are. What I caught this morning was about ten inches long. I trapped him and when I pulled it out he shot out of the trap and rolled up into a ball at the bottom of the tank. I used a Turkey baster to suck him up and found that he was attacking a hermit crab. They prey on snails and clams so I hope you don't have any clams in there. I lost a clam last year and now I know why. I have several more to catch.
Does anyone know what animal might go after these without harming the reef?
