Okay, nobody at Nano-Reef can figure it out. You've always been helpful at RC... How 'bout it? Any ideas? :)

This is the person's description of it:

the first one started out the size of about ( ) this big

its got a gelatinous texture and consistency to it
very resilient
the base is quite small compared to the diameter of the mushroom like head it has
it seems to be made up of lots of little bubbles
if i had to compare it to anything it would be the alveole in human lungs

yeah the red thingy is quite squishy and soft to the touch

its very strongly attached cause my snails are constantly trying to squeeze between it and a piece of lr and it hasnt moved

dont mind the white stuff on it
its just some detrius from me messing around in the tank

looks like ascidians to me from this view/image. Colonial tunicates (versus the larger, solitatary "sea squirts")

If you can offer a closer, clearer full-frame shot... we might be able to confirm it.

Photo tip... get the subject as close to the glass as possible, and get your camera as close to the (other side ;)) of the glass as possible. Much better images usually. Also... do NOT use the digital zoom, but only the mechanical zoom, if any. Digital zoom is good for nothing more than ruining pictures IMO :D

Someone else says they have something similar:

They swear it's not a macro. Maybe a softy? Has similar characteristics to the one above: fast growth, very squishy, slimy "body", attached at one end.
