Currentusa skimmer question

First post here and glad i found this forum. Seems much better then the rest i have seen.
Anyway I do not have my tank up and running yet as im still collecting the stuff for it. Almost there though.
I bought this skimmer

Naturally after buying it i have read a few posts here and there that say it is junk. I'm wondering why? Can it be made to work properly?

PS it is the #8105 and going in a 20g sump with the DT being a 55G

Everyone has an opinion about equipment. As a matter of fact everyone has an opinion on just about everything out there. Unless you want to weed through those opinions an find one you think may be right for you, or one you agree with just use the skimmer you already bought until you find out whether or not it is adequate for your set up. If not buy another one and sell that one. You may find that it works just fine..And welcome...
