Diatom filter

I'm getting ready to purchase a Vortex diatom filter. Any one have any experience with these.? I've read some reviews on line. As a rule most have great opinions of them. I would consider looking at another brand but cant seem to find anything on line except the Vortex. My DT is 180 gal. I emailed Vortex about which size filter I would need but they have not responded to me yet. Maybe I should reconsider my purchase if they wont even answer an email. From what I have read...it is basically a small mom and pop business with a good product. I'll give it another day or so then re- evaluate my purchase.

Not something I would use on my reef tanks.

I did use them about 15- 20 years ago.
They are great for polishing your water, but not something I would want to deal with anymore.
