This is going to be my latest project in reef automation. A different way to keep the sump full. Can be installed any way, hung, through a hole or bulkhead.

Oh, now I understand. That is cool!
Where did you get it?

The manufacturer. I'm the wholesaler/retailer. Ive been working on this one for a long time.

so don will this be able to be a switch to turn off the pump to prevent overflows from the tank and maybe even a protien skimmerpump model as well if its as easy as place it and then plug it in you may be rich off this I am curious what you'll sell em for :)

Nobody is going to get rich selling anything for cost. They work out to 63$ for the sensor. They come from europe and are usually sold to oem's in huge quantities. I just got ahold of the right person. You can also get them from AAS for $79. Your only limitation as far as what your going to power up/down is based on the relay that you choose.

I can think of 1,000,000 uses for such a device...and so many for the aquarium! I'd be really interested in attaining a kit for a top-off and low sump kill switch. I wonder what the realibility/longevity of these are?

What do you think a kit with all the needed parts would go for? Best estimate.

Thanks!

The sensor is $63. Other than that you need wire solder and a relay. For a top off I'd use a sensor, backup float, relay and a aqualifter. As for reliability, I'm still waiting it out, only been a few weeks. Tunze has been using this method for years.

Don , I just meant I believe if it was packed and sold as an item for a particular purpose it would be very popular if no one had to modify anything and just place it and plug it in and I meant it as a wish and compliment :) I'm sorry If I came across wrong Really I think it is a great idea and thought you had been working on it for a long time :)

No sweat, I'm all for making a buck, I already own a profitable business this is just a hobby. I do agree with the all in one package theory.
Tunze has this with their osmolator gizmo. It uses the same type of optical setup I have.
