Dirtsquirt's 30Gal Low Budget

Here it is... Bought it on Sunday, brought it home and cleaned it up and changed around the aquascaping. Put it on a decent stand and changed out the 24" fixture it came with for a 30".

Marineland Penguin HOB filter, used mostly for circulation ATM.

nice looking tank. But on the Right profile pic i see you have some red algea.. I have this stuff and its a pain in the you know what. If you can get that stuff out as soon as you can..

I saw one of the Emeralds crabs I got from Barrier yesterday burrowed in the red algae, eating everything around him.

I'll see if that works but it if doesn't than manual extraction might be needed.

I would try that first and let the crab pick at the stuff you cant get. It will most likely grow faster than the crab can eat it.

Un Id'ed coral #1 is a orange palythoa. I dont' know if it has a fancy name though. You probably don't need the 2nd 50 watt heater. I don't tend to trust that which can't be identified. Get a media bag and pack the penguin with carbon if you wan't to truly be of use. Remove the biowheel if the penguin has one. It just helps the nitrates build up faster. I love the rockscaping you did.
