I just need to share with some people who will understand how i feel, I am having a pretty bad day. We are recarpeting the bedroom where the tank is so i had to move the 90 out of the bedroom. Plan was set up 65 holding tank in family room, move stuff from 90 into it, clean 90, set 90 back up in family room, install carpet in bedroom, install new 150 in bedroom transfer everything to its new home. Sounds simple huh? Got everything into the 65 Sunday night, running a vortech for circ and a heater, no sump or skimmer. This morning woke up to cloudy water, horrible foul smell, all my pocilipora dead, torch dead, fish gasping, things going south in a hurry. I have to leave for work, cant call in sick, wont have my 90 set back up till tonight with fresh water to transfer everything back into it.. not sure what will be left by then... wife is understanding but i dont think she understands how i feel... I am losing so much, i am so so stressed... not looking for advice or condolence, just needed to vent..

Man, thats harse. You should've arranged a rescue party through your wife. Some of us could've came down and swapped things cleaned things.
Hope you get it figured out tonight.

I'm really sorry to hear. I pretty much lost 98% of my corals over the summer in their holding tank when I was killing my rock to start over from all the algae issues I was having. Don't worry my whole tank is set back up and I have algae again already. For the first 2-3 years I never had any issues with algae and now for the last 1.5 years I can't get rid of it. I'm begging to think it's my LED's!

Man Danny. I am sooooooo sorry to hear about this. Things always seem to happen at the worst times in the hobby. I hope you have some survival and by all means take people up on their offers to help. There are lots of good souls here who truly want to help one another when something goes wrong.

Very sorry to hear about this. I would be absolutely sick to have to leave and not be able to take care of the tank.
When you get things back up and running, let me know. I will get you some coral. You come up and I'll cut you what I can. SPS, LPS, Softies & zoas.

Danny,

I feel your pain. If I were closer I would offer to help anyway I can.

UPDATE: 8:30pm 90 is clean and on stand, i have 70 gallons salt water coming up to temp, will have to use 20 gallons+ of fouled water from the 65 hold tank and then do water changes as fast as my rodi will make it. So far the Pocilliporas are gone, the torch is lookin bad, cant tell what else, will update before bed around midnight or so..
Thanks to all the kind words.
On the bright side, I was very busy at work today with a lot of clients with problems and issues far worse than mine. It helps to put my stuff in perspective when you listen to people all day with parents with alzheimers or children with MS. Had one lady who lost her 6 year old son a few years back and is still grieving, somehow it puts my coral loss in perspective. While I am still hurt by the loss, I have much to be thankful for.

Hope everything else makes a recovery and definitely feel your pain. Along with Lorrie let me know when ready for restocking, if your willing to travel a bit North I will provide you a nice care package for trip home to help restock yoour tank.

Cheers, Todd

Ditto, I don't have very many huge but probably have a few frags to offer if you want to come by. Its never fun to lose live stock. How are the fish doing?

UPDATE
well the 90 is up and running and skimming and the great news is i lost NO FISH! yeah! I lost my 8 inch diameter pocilliora, 2 different montiporas, and the torch. Others are looking sad but look like they will make comeback. Still not sure what triggered it all, but am on slow road to recovery. I appreciate all the offers of frags to help, I will not be adding anything to this tank however. I am going to wait till the new 150 is set up and cycled in the bedroom before adding livestock, that should be in 2-3 months or so depending on cycle. Thanks again to all, the RF community is awesome and caring, a true great bunch of people to hang with.

I am volunteering this weekend at the bob moore swap. If i pick anything up while there, is there anyone who has room to house some stuff for a few months? It is a GREAT opportunity to recoup, but timing is bad for me.. let me know if you are going to be there and could babysit some frags.
