Ok not really but if your car has keyless entry (remote on your keys). You can call your husband or wife with the other remote on your cell phone and theirs. Have them hold the remote to the phone while you hold yours a foot away from the car. Push the unlock button and your in.
Call must be cell to cell.

I have actually used this before. It does work.

I wonder if it works with aftermarket stuff like you have installed at a stereo shop. It works with my truck and my daughter pasatt but its factory.
Someone try please and let me know, I'll get one for my oldest kids car.:)

Hello, hello anybody there. i am really wondering where this bright green small mantis shrimp went. It ended up in my cpr bacpac skimmer and silly me I thought it couldn't get out. NOT now it is lost. Krish has a pic of a mantis shrimp that looks just like the one I saw ( hand on my heart I am sure I saw it). His pic is in a bucket. Just wondering um...how big that wwas? Little?

hmmm....I've heard that's an urban myth....after all...a phone translates sound into electical impulses, and then back into sound again...how would this even work? The keyless entry sends out a radiowave, but no sound...someone's going to have to explain that one to me....

I've tried it before and it doesn't work here. Must be the Bahamian cell phone service...They suck in basically every aspect unless it is a myth:rolleyes:

These are just the cars that have come into my shop in the last few days with key fobs. All worked perfectly.

Don, have you checked to make sure that there is no way that the remote will work from where you are sending the signal?

In other words, are you positive that the remote isn't actually unlocking the car by itself?

I'd say all of the cars where tested well over a mile away. Ive been telling my customer and they have been calling from their houses. Needless to say all have been thrilled.:)

Add one more to the list 97 chry town and country

Well if this is a joke, then you got me; I'm going to try it on my car later. I'll report the results.

Whats the theory behind it?

A cell phone would have the abilty to transmitt any signal that could be sensed by the cell phone's microphone, and reproduced by the cell phone's speaker.

Is there another device that could be utalized to transmitt a signal? Or is the mic/speaker capable of sensing/reproducing RF signals (assuming that is what these remotes are using)?

I have no clue. I tried it with x10 rf and it did not work. I also tried it with my remote start on my truck. It unlocks the doors but wont start my truck.
