Just look in the phone book under plastic. Shop around a little because prices will vary. Then make sure you get a cell cast variety of some sort. Good luck.

Could you elaborate on what "cell cast" is, and why it is preferred?

Also, are there differences in the hardness (scratch-resistance) of acrylic available?

Remeber Acriylic Is Getting Spendy Very Spendy Soo I Would Go Glass..go To Garf Get Directions Then Go To Brown Building Get It Cut Out And Cleaned Edges Then Follow Directions And It Willl Be Sweet And Cheap Unlike Plastic Scratchy And It Wears Out Even The Good Stuff Just My Opinion And Research

have been toying with that idea also havent dwcided if want all glassor go with plywood idea on garfs garfs awsome place for info and ideas

"Cell cast" means that the hot liquid acrylic is pored into a mold and is much denser and absorbs less water then the alternative. The alternative is Extruded acrylic which is continually extruded and is much softer and more scratchable.

brand varieties of cell cast include Spartech Polycast, ACRYLITE® GP, Plexiglas G, Acrycast and probably many others. I would rank their quality in the order listed.

you didnt do very good research it sounds like, a properly built acrylic tank will last decades longer than a glass tank. And scratches that are made are easily repaired, even in a running system.

But yes glass is much cheaper if you are on a tight budget, and nothing beats a plywood/glass tank for the $.
