Thats a big maybe. Like Mike said, depth, and bioload, and plenum or not, grain size, and many other factors go into it. Steve

I'll echo the comments above, but add that it worked for me with a DSB. I went from over 100 ppm of nitrates when I first got my setup used (was a FOWLR) to undetectable with a DSB. That said, I have removed it because it was conflicting with my flow plans and was probably saturated and releasing back into the tank.
