Dolphin Water Pump

I am kinda losing faith in my Dolphin. I have had my ES 3500 for 2 years and I had to replace the rocker switch twice! I don't turn it off that often...maybe 3-4 times a year and it just wears out in that time. The REAL problem is i can't find the switch local and have to order it from the company in Florida...pay overnight shipping so it costs about $80 each time this happens.:evil: Has anyone else experienced this with Dolphin pumps?

So I sitting here thinking it may time for a change.........Looking at the VorTech pump. I have a 65 gallon, would one pump be enough?? Who out there are using them now? Likes.....Dislikes? This inquiring mind wants to know.

Couldn't you just wire it up without the switch? Just unplug it when you need it off.

Ok after looking these pumps up, they mount a switch on the pump, I'd replace it with a heavier duty switch or permanently bypass it completely & If you want a switch put one on the outlet that controls the pump, completely remove power from the pump. You need a little know how to do it but you can put in better than they offer & instead of $80 a pop you can pay $5 & do it one & for all, that doesn't make sense.

I agree, and yes one vortech should be enough for a 65 gallon.
