So just out of couriosity.... what kind of metal halide light bulb does everybody prefer? The double ended or the screw in type? I dont really have a preferance myself, but i don't really know that much about them. I'm currently useing a double ended 250W 14,000K with an Ice Cap ballast? What is everybody elses oppinion?

I like single end lamps myself. My setup in the canopy is custom and since i didn't build the stand or canopy i don't really have a lot of space for a lamp that requires an enclosed fixture. Aren't the single ended lamps a little cheaper too?

I have always used single end.....no special reason just the way it has worked out. I have read in the past that double end are brighter but i don't know this to be true.

I am a big fan of the lumenarc mini reflectors, which require SE bulbs.

You can get Luminarc reflectors with DE sockets

I started off with PFO DE reflectors then upgraded to Luminarc DE mini's. Eventually I switched over to SE reflectors because the bulbs are a bit cheaper and there is a much wider variety of brands and K ratings to choose from over the DE's.
