James here, some of you might know me from other fish keeping forums. Some others might know me from wandering around in your store with my kid. I currently have a 55 and a 75 gal that are both freshwater for now. :(

I've caught the SW craze though. I plan to start a 180 in a year or so when my lease is up on my apartment. Once I get into a house the 180 will definitely happen!! So I apologize before-hand because I know I will be asking some stupid/silly questions and possibly annoying some people but I promise it's all in the sake of learning.

Edit: How to I change my avatar/signature? I can't seem to find it in my profile.

Welcome to RF!! :D You may have to meet a certain post count to be able to put up a custom signature and avitar and if so, I think it is only like 8-10 posts which was put in place to help protect us from spammers. However, where you would want to go is the settings tab found off to the right under the Reef Frontiers banner. Once you click on that, it will take you to the next page where you should have the option off to the left to edit avitar and signature. :)

Welcome aboard! I'm new here myself and everyone has been really friendly and tolerant of my noob questions so don't worry about that.

Well, one thing you will find on this forum unlike many others is we don't mind repeat questions at all. :) Some forums I have been a member of, if you posted a question that has been asked before, they delete your thread and send you a pm telling you to go and use the search feature!. That's nuts!! The forum is here to help people and IMO, alot of the time, people are in a jam and need answers ASAP rather than spending a few hours searching so just ask away. No question has been asked to much where I am concerned and no question is stupid either so feel free to ask whatever. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome. :D

I would be angry if I were to be treated in such a manner. There are many other active forums, possibly with nicer people.. like this place :p. You should be seeing me pop up more and more as time rolls closer to me getting my first SW tank. I feel like there are leaps and bounds between my fresh water knowledge and all this saltwater jazz. I thought it was hard to remember all these African names and here I am flabberghasted by everything.

Yea, it's a tad bit different than fresh. Freshwater is a walk in the park. Saltwater, takes a little more knowledge. Once you know the in's and out's in time it will come natural. :)

:welcome: to RF. You've found the most awesome reef forum on the web. Nice people and mods here. :D
