Have you guys received a date when you can get the new elos 20k mh bulbs?

Hi Nate,

The new bulbs are shipping to distributors later this week. We should be able to ge them into the store the week before Christmas. There is a true 14K called Coral and the 20K is called Abyss. They are high quality german made lamps that are UV protected. Each bulb comes with a bottle of alcohol cleaner. Pricing is the same for the 14k and 20k.

well i dont know how worried you are about selling out or what not but i have been waiting for the 20k version of the 250W screw in type to come out, to put together my new light set up.

Any photos or any idea what they would be compaired to? Like color?

i haven't looked really for comp pics, i didn't think to being that they haven't been released yet but, they are elos and i think that says a lot. There products are top notch.

What I was told is the 14K are true. Mostly white with a little blue. Think Ushio 14K. The 20K's are a purplish/blue. Kinda like a radium. We are considering putting two 20K's on the display along with three new Reeflux 20Ks. We love the Reeflux 20K's on the frag but really want to see how these new Elos bulbs look.

Does anybody have any feedback on these bulbs?

My Reeflux 12k is starting to get pretty old. I was thinking of trying out the Elos.....

I believe we have two but they are on hold for Nate. We can get more on 48 hours notice. I'm hoping to throw a couple on the display tank so we can check them out.

A guy posted some pics of the bulbs in action not quite broke in he says on another site. Google "Elos 250w 20K Review" i think, is what i typed yesterday as a matter of fact and a guy wrote some things about the new 20Ks with pics

Fyi Note: I emailed Jesse at elos to clear up some something he said about some elos bulbs not having non uv shielded glass but he did clear up that it is only on the double ended bulbs if anybody else reads the thread there.

Happens a lot this time of year with me sorry. hence the VV signature VV thanks again this works out perfectly i am moving my tank this weekend and i will get the new light set up together next week

Have you had a chance to test them out yet? I am a reeflux fan, but am thinking of trying the new elos 20k.

Yes we have two near the center of our display tank. A nice white with a tint of blue. If you came to Midnight Madness we only had the two Elos 20Ks on in the display. Definately not a deep dim blue.
