Tim, Matt (Bricky), and I left this morning at 4am and drove to San Francisco to pick up Matt's 400 gallon custom Elos Crystal Tank. Its 84"x40"x27". Yikes...its a mini ocean. We are going to visit a few local stores, the Monteray Bay Aquarium, and Elos tomorrow and then drive home wednesday around 3am. We plan on taking tons of photos tomorrow and thought it would be fun to share our experiences. Here's Tim packing up the truck waaaay to early in the morning. Next is part of the beautiful Lake Shasta. Hopefully tomorrows pictures are more interesting:)

Tim looks like hes posing for one of those "Hes got a little Captain in him!" Commercials for Captain Morgans =P

Jesse...that Captain comment had us all rolling:) What a trip! The aquarium had some amazing displays but not much in the way of reef stuff. All three stores we visited were appealing in their own way. We are bringing home some really nice stuff for our farm and displays. Our visit to Elos was fantastic. Jesse had just received a container and we got to see a few large custom rimless/braceless tanks and the new ~75 gallon rimless/braceless bowfront. This tank was unreal. Matt's tank is currently secure in the truck and we are almost home. Thank goodness...I can't handle anymore 3am wakeups to hit the road. We took tons of pictures and they will follow once we catch up on a little sleep.

Now home after situating our new corals and I realized I didn't mention any of the new pieces we picked up at the suppliers that are available for purchase.

Pink Montipora digitata frags
Peach Birdsnest w/ Neon Green Tips
Frag of Acropora plana (we believe) Sweet!
Metallic Turquoise/Green Acropora Millepora with Metallic Blue on 1" of upper growth (lg branches)
Purple Haze Montipora frags
A sweet lavendar purple w/ neon green eyed Echinophyllia (I've only seen pictures before)
Turquoise centered zoanthid frags (like the piece we have in our Elos tank)
A palythoa that resembles Lunar Eclipses but is slightly different
A palythoa that resembles Armor of God but is slightly different

There are still a dozen or so really nice Acropora colonies left from the last two shipments and we have another frag shipment coming thursday afternoon. It will include some new species/color morphs we haven't had before. One should be a neon purple plating monti (todd if you read this its the one you've been patiently waiting on) and the other is a blue and purple w/ green undertones Acropora selago.

Pics tomorrow....I promise:)

Morgan,

Sounds like you are planning the ultimate roadtrip!
When you say "disc" I'm unsure what you are referring to? Maybe its a different term here in the US? If you were refering to the zoanthid frags, which some companies put on discs, we usually leave them on the rocks and then glue those rocks to slightly larger pieces of live rock so they still look natural. Prices range from $5/frag-$50/frag depending on the type of zoanthid/palythoa and the number of polyps. Not sure if thats what you were looking for though:)

As promised...

Here we are at Elos. A stack of System 70's...all Crystal.
Another custom tank... even bigger than bricky's. Five of us struggled to slide it from one pallet to another. A 120xl tank and stand. Also included is a picture of Jesse's office. Gee, I'd really hate to work surrounded by all that beautiful stuff:D Finally, a bunch of product..so pretty. Hopefully Matt and Tim will chime in with their pictures. Matt has some pictures of some killer corals we saw at the various stores we visited. I'll also let Matt post what pics he chooses regarding his beautiful aquarium.

Well, here I go. The pictures may never end. I'll give descriptions at request, otherwise I'd be here all day.

The tank pictures will be in a seperate thread.

Somebody can't wait to get in.:D
