A friend of mine (Shane Pinder) is a Lawyer by day and a professional photographer in his spare time. Here are a few wild shots he took here in the Bahamas.

I love that pic with the octo krish! Do u know about how deep he goes? That boat look like its the deepest.

Thanks guys! He takes some really great photos! As for depth I couldn't say. I'd have to ask him, but deep enough to require scuba tanks. :)

Oh man, it would be so cool to dive where there's a sunken ship!! There's just something mystical about a boat that's sunk, no matter how long it's been underwater (though the longer they've been there, the more awesome it is :D )

And that octopus looks unreal! Too cool! Thanks for sharing :)

I will be sure to post more of the sunken ship. He also has one with a guy playing with the octopus. Give me a few to get the kids all settled. :)

Yea, we call them pilchards (sp) here. They are one of the best things to use for bait when fishing. Even more so when they are alive! They eat any fish they can fit into their mouth's including the babay groupers, snappers etc that people here catch to either make a living or for food. I was one of the first people to catch a lionfish here. I had a thread about it. Caught the thing, threw it back and then after realizing they aren't supposed to be here went back in and caught him again. He was taken to the Department of Fisheries here where he was killed and sent to North Carolina (I think it was) for genetic testing they said to see if this lionfish was the same ones they had in the water up there. Apparently some goof ball threw some in the water there and tehy were making their way down the coastline. Sure enough, this was supposed to be the same species and now Bahamians are doing all they can to erradicate them as they are wreaking havoc on the fishing industry. They have set up tournaments to see who can catch the most and have even brought in chefs to teach the locals how to properly clean and cook them. It's sad, but any person out fishing, spearing whatever and comes across one of these guys, they kill it. Too much at risk with them in our waters. I've heard they are down in Jamaica now and going further south. Sucks bigtime!! Of all the fish it had to be a predatory fish. Should have been clowns instead.
