I have a feather duster that seems to be attached to the base of one of my brain corals. You can only see the tip of the tube sticking out at night when the brain coral has closed up. I want to move the feather duster out from over the brain coral. If the tube is attached to the base of the coral is it okay to break it off at the base?

I would leave it alone. Fussing with it is likely to damage both.

Ive seen a lot of feather dusters attached to open brain bases. It seems to be a natural combo. The duster will grow much larger. After a few months you will have a nice display with the two together. I wouldnt be surprised if you discover a couple more dusters on the base that you havent seen yet.
